Photograph a bill and the AI reads every printed line — items, service charge, tax, rounding. When they don’t reach the total, it says so instead of inventing an item nobody printed. Then it waits: nothing is written until you approve the diff.
Four behaviours that are hard to build and easy to fake. Each one is a refusal as much as a feature.

“spent 10 on coffee”
Plain captures are parsed on the spot, posted, and reported back — nothing to wait for and nothing counted against your allowance. Anything that smells like a question or an instruction goes to the assistant instead, because a junk row costs you more than the call costs us.

The same charge, twice
A receipt and the statement it later posts on are one charge. maneko flags the pair and shows both — it never picks for you.

The one it will not do
It never messages the other person
The AI writes the reminder and opens your WhatsApp with the text typed. Not as a template, not once, not behind a flag — the person you split a bill with never agreed to hear from software.

Where the AI actually sits
It reads. You decide. Two places to talk to it.
The model’s job is the reading — pulling every printed line out of a photograph and checking the arithmetic. It never gets the last word: every change it proposes arrives as a diff you approve or discard, and it never messages anybody on your behalf.

It itemises without being asked
Not a second step, not a paid extra, not a button. Every receipt comes back line by line in the same breath — including service charge, tax, tip, rounding and discounts, and never a subtotal as a line, because a subtotal is a sum of the others.
It drafts. You send.

Your net worth, held in each currency it is actually in
Everything you own, less everything you owe. maneko never adds a Euro to a Dollar to make one tidier number — the moment it did, the figure would be a guess about a rate rather than a fact about your money.

What people still owe you
Euros and US dollars sit side by side and are never added together — one person can owe you in two currencies.
Three things that are hard to get right
Each one is the reason a spreadsheet was not enough.
01
Photograph a receipt. It reads every line.
Every dish in the order the till printed it, then what the bill added on top — service charge, tax, tip, rounding, discounts — so you can check that 6% of the subtotal really is the figure printed beside it.
Lines vs. the bill

One line unreadable?

02
Multi-currency that stays honest
A transaction’s amounts cancel within each currency, never across one — converting is a judgement about a rate on a day, not a fact about what happened.
So maneko stores the movement and works out what it is worth when you read it. Change your display currency and every past figure re-reads correctly, because none was ever frozen.
Stored vs. worked out
EUR left the source accountstored4,000.00
USD arrivedstored4,340.00
Rate on the daystored1.085
The USD, worth in EUR — at today’s rateworked out
03
Split a bill — and chase it yourself
Split a whole bill or a single dish — by a share, a fixed amount, or in proportion to what everyone ate. What gets stored is the rule, not a guessed number.
maneko never messages the other person. It writes the text and opens your WhatsApp, so every message that arrives was sent by you.
A reminder, composed not sent
Amara — dinner, 19 Julopen48.25
Draft in your WhatsApp

And then it keeps going.

Forecast · 30d 🔮
It knows what is coming
Bills, loans and detected subscriptions projected against your liquid balance, on the business day each one actually clears.
Recurring
And notices when a price changes
Same merchant, same-ish amount, regular interval — confirmed in one tap. Price-change alerts and dead subscriptions fall out of that for free.

Ask before you spend
Drop a hypothetical amount in and see it against the forecast, in any currency, converted once at entry and never again.
Household
Two people, one net worth
Share with a partner and read the total three ways — just yours, split by person, everyone combined. Only members who chose to share are counted.
Investments
Valued, not re-bought
Holdings are units × cached price × FX at read time, so nothing posts a fake revaluation into your ledger. A daily snapshot feeds the net-worth chart.
Transfers
Auto-paired, netted to zero
Money moving between your own accounts leaves you exactly as rich as you were, so the list shows a dash where a figure would lie.
Live rates
Mid-market, and pluggable
Today\u2019s rate pulled from a mid-market feed, or your own provider token if you bring one. What a past transaction cost you never moves.
Attachments
Every document, searchable
Receipts, statements and chat photos kept together and re-namable — and the same upload is never re-read, it reuses the earlier extraction.
Calendar
A month at a glance
Which days were heavy, which were quiet — and what is scheduled to land on the ones ahead.
Bring a year of it at once
Photos, PDFs, CSVs. A year in one go.
Backfilling is the worst hour of any finance app. maneko is built for the pile, not the single receipt — whole files at a time, and it tells you which rows it is unsure about.
📸
Photos, several at a time
Two pages of one bill, or the card slip that goes with it, group under a single document — not two half-transactions.
📄
PDF, read natively
A statement PDF goes to the model as a document, not as a filename — so it is never handed back with “please send a CSV instead”.
🧾
CSV, to the cent
A bank export already has exact figures, so nothing reads them — they are parsed straight through. Instant, and it never touches your allowance.
🏦
Accounts and categories too
Not just transactions — an accounts list with opening balances, a category tree, a contacts export. Your old app’s shape comes with you.
Clean file · instant
Exact numbers are not guessed at
Uniform columns — a date, an amount, a description — and the figures land exactly as your bank wrote them, because judgement is the wrong tool for arithmetic. You pick the account, see the count, Approve. No import plan, no batches, no “continue”.
An irregular PDF or a shot of a paper statement runs as a background job in batches, with progress you can watch and leave. If a batch comes back wrong you are asked whether to retry, adjust the rule, skip it, or stop — never silently continued.
batch 4 / 6
Blurry line? It zooms and crops rather than asking you.
Same file twice? The earlier extraction is reused — you are not billed to read it again.Review your way — the exceptions as a table, or card-by-card.Library filters by image, PDF or CSV, and every row remembers its source file.No bank logins — maneko holds no credential to any account of yours.
Privacy by minimisation
The model reads your bill. Not you.
Reading a document is the one step that needs the raw file, so it gets it — and nothing else does. Every call after that runs on redacted text: account numbers cut to the last four, identity numbers, names and addresses stripped before the request is built.
Amounts and dates survive on purpose. Redacting those would break the arithmetic and protect nothing.
Raw documents go to a zero-retention reading step, under terms with no training on your data.
Stored chat, memory, forecasts and queries all run on the redacted copy — including your own past messages.
Documents are kept encrypted, and only the reading step can decrypt one.

A native iOS build is being worked on. Until it is on the App Store this page will not pretend otherwise.
Where your data goes
A ledger holds the most specific record of a life there is. The full list of who can see any of it lives in the privacy policy; this is the shape of it.
Documents you upload are read by a model provider in the United States, under zero-retention terms. That is the AI that itemises a receipt. It sees the contents of what you choose to upload and the messages you send in chat.
Your ledger and documents are stored in South Korea, and the server that runs maneko is in Japan.
Card numbers go to the payment processor directly, never to maneko. If you subscribe, that processor sees your email and payment details.
The error tracker never sees amounts — only which page failed, the error, and your account id.
Nothing is sent to anyone you split a bill with. Reminders open in your own WhatsApp, addressed by you.
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Security.
The plan gates the AI’s appetite. Never your ledger.
Every ledger feature is free forever — accounts, splits, budgets, goals, every currency. What a plan buys is a bigger daily allowance of model time, because reading a photograph costs real money. Free still reads receipts; it just reads fewer a day.
Prices shown in USD; you’re billed in your local currency (RM, S$, …) at checkout. Pay yearly and save ~5%.
Freeno card
Free
The whole ledger, and enough AI for a normal month of receipts.
Paste your own model API key and the allowance stops applying — on either plan. You pay the model provider directly, and maneko takes no cut of it.
Or top up instead
Prepaid credits for the months you scan a lot, spent at the metered cost of your own calls — not an estimate, a division.
Run out and nothing breaks
The allowance resets at midnight in your timezone. Meanwhile the ledger keeps working — the paywall never touches a feature you already entered by hand.
Card details go straight to the payment processor and never to maneko. The monthly figures above are the shipped defaults. Every ledger feature stays free; a plan only raises the AI allowance, and is cancellable any time from the billing portal.
Photograph your next bill.
Send it to a chat, read the diff, approve it. Every line the bill printed, in books that balance — in each currency your money is actually in.
